Benefits for clinical teaching staff

As a clinical tutor or lecturer with RCSI, some of the benefits you will enjoy include:

  • Participation in clinical courses such as ACLS, IBU and PALS and be refunded up to €450 on successful completion
  • Refunds available up to €450 on passing approved examinations
  • Up to 14 days educational leave to support participation on approved courses, exams or professional development activities.
  • Funding will be provided for clinical lecturers and tutors (provided they meet the academic eligibility criteria) to complete a MD degree with RCSI
  • Contracts of up to three years in duration are available.

RCSI will make a contribution towards the costs of the following approved clinical courses which are undertaken within Ireland:

NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Programme
Immediate Care Course - Cardiac
Immediate Care Course - Trauma
Immediate Care Course - Paediatrics
Care of the Critically Ill Surgical Patient
Acute Life Threatening Events: Recognition and Treatment
Acute Medical Emergencies: The Practical Approach

The sum of the contribution towards these clinical courses will be €450 per course. In cases where the cost of the clinical course is less than €450, then the amount contributed will be the same as the cost of the examination.
