Post Maternity Leave Return to Work Programme RCSI works with Mumager to support mothers returning to work post Maternity leave through the provision of practical workshops and resource materials. The workshop benefits both the employer and the employee by ensuring that the returning mum is as engaged as possible when returning to work. The workshop has been designed based on employer and employee feedback and covers topics such as building resilience, managing time & conflicts, coping with feelings of guilt, increasing self-confidence and fitting back in to the workplace and dealing with a changing environment. The workshop is interactive and is run using a facilitative coaching approach. RCSI will host the next Dublin Mumager workshop on 30 January 2018 at RCSI, St. Stephen’s Green. RCSI has an agreement with Giraffe Childcare & Early Learning and supports a limited number of places for registered students and staff of RCSI at its Dublin sites. Giraffe develop and operate Childcare and Early Learning Centres for pre-school children from three months and upwards. Family Facilities and Events

RCSI is a breastfeeding-friendly campus, meaning that breastfeeding is welcome in any of the public areas. Breastfeeding facilities are available in a dedicated Parent’s Room in 123 St Stephen’s Green.

The RCSI Sports & Social Club offers a range of benefits and activities for members, including the annual Family Fun Day and Children’s Christmas Party. Twenty-Six York Street also offers family friendly facilities including a full size gymnasium.

Parents Network

Expression of Interest: The RCSI Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Unit would love to hear from staff who are parents or have caring responsibilities that might be interested in establishing an RCSI Staff Parents & Carers Network. Work Life Balance

RCSI is committed to creating a collegiate work environment that is conducive to quality work, study and the attainment of a healthy work-life balance. The staff HR portal has useful information on work-life balance in RCSI including resources on career breaks, flexible working options, university policies, and family-friendly facilities on campus.

In 2016, RCSI launched the INSPIRE programme which aims to promote the benefits of health and wellbeing to staff of the organisation. The initiative, entitled RCSI Inspire will be launched to coincide with National Workplace Wellbeing Day. RCSI Inspire is based on four health pillars; Physical, Nutritional, Mental and Occupational health. This involves the amalgamation of existing exercise activities, with a number of new initiatives that will safeguard the overall health and wellbeing of RCSI staff in the workplace.
