MRCS Examination
The MRCS and FRCS Examination guide is aimed at prospective candidates of these examinations and is designed to help them decide when and where to sit their exam and how best to prepare.
The guide contains extensive information about the structure of the MRCS, the MRCS (ENT), and the FRCS. It also contains 2018 exam dates, the venues in which they will be offered and also the exam preparation courses offered by RCSI.

Exam preparation resources
RCSI has partnered with PasTest, one of the leading providers of revision resources for the MRCS exams to offer discounted access to their MRCS resources. All candidates sitting MRCS Part A and MRCS Part B with RCSI in 2018 will be entitled to a 25% discount off their online subscription.
The MRCS Part A subscription provides access to +3,000 MRCS Part A SBA Practice Questions, helpful media resources and a free mobile app. The MRCS Part B subscription offers to candidates helpful detailed lectures and demonstration videos and case studies. The MRCS Part B (OSCE) preparation course
Due to the limited number of attempts for MRCS Part B it is crucial that candidates sit the exam only after undertaking intense preparation. RCSI offers this two-day intensive course particularly designed to prepare surgical trainees for this exam.
The course covers the core content of the exam and is designed to assist the candidates in their exam preparation and to improve their examination technique. It has mock OSCEs, interactive workshops, and group discussions in the areas of: applied surgery/critical care, clinical/procedural skills, anatomy/surgical pathology, and communications.
This course is run three times a year in Ireland and in other rotating international locations. The next dates of this course will take place in the following locations:

Exam venues, dates, and applications
RCSI offers opportunities to sit these examinations in Ireland and at a number of overseas centres in Jordan (Amman), Bahrain, Saudi Arabia (Dammam), Malaysia (Penang, Kuala Lumpur, and Kota Kinabalu), Malta and India (Chennai, Kochi, and Lucknow).
Applications are now open for the examinations taking place in late 2018. Please note that important changes have been introduced to MRCS Part A from January 2017. Please visit the intercollegiate website for more information.
