RCSI Leaps Up in Times Higher Education World University Rankings

RCSI has significantly improved its position in the 2015-2016 Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings. RCSI is now ranked in the #251 – 300 category, leaping forward from its 2014-2015 ranking of #389. 

THE World University Rankings employs 13 separate performance indicators to reflect strengths in five areas – teaching, research, citations, industry income and international outlook. RCSI has increased in its score in all of these areas this year.

RCSI has also increased in its top 50 position for ‘International Outlook’ from 49th in the world in 2014-15 to 46th this year. The ‘International Outlook’ sub-category gives credits for international students and staff and research publications with international partners.

Commenting on the rankings, Professor Cathal Kelly, RCSI Chief Executive said “Our strong performance in the THE World University Rankings is an affirmation of RCSI’ s investment in the expansion of our educational and research activities in pursuit of our Growth and Excellence strategy to provide impactful research, excellence in education and international leadership in medical education. It is also testament to the strong commitment to excellence by our faculty, staff and students.”
