New Medical Quarter
There's never been a better place or time to study medicine than at RCSI in 2017.
RCSI has been at the forefront of educating healthcare professionals since 1784 when we were founded as the national training and professional body for surgery. Today we are Ireland’s only focused health sciences institution, Ireland’s largest medical school and one of the leading health sciences institutions in the world.
As an independent degree-awarding institution, we chart our own course, developing healthcare leaders capable of delivering the very best patient care and conducting innovative research to yield improvements in patient outcomes.
Our obsession to produce well-rounded, clinically distinguished medical professionals, who make a difference worldwide is the cornerstone of our 232-year history, and in 2014 it inspired our decision to create a new, state-of-the-art Medical Quarter in the heart of Dublin city centre.
Our new 10-storey academic and educational building at 26 York Street, which houses Ireland’s first integrated, multi-disciplinary clinical simulation suite, forms a key part of our new Medical Quarter, and will receive its first intake of students in September 2017.
