Mission statement: The Office of Research and Innovation enhances funding opportunities, communication and successful awards to research staff and encourages and supports an environment conducive for internationally competitive research.

Key functions

  • Management of research and research programmes
  • Administration and financial support on research grant applications and management of awards
  • Management and promotion of training research and outreach initiatives promoting research
  • Communication and promotion of RCSI research activity 

Main responsibilities 

  • Manage research and funding
  • Disseminate information, such as record of new awards, research events, latest programme information, proposal deadlines and other relevant notices, in the format of newsletter, reports, regularly updated website
  • Provide high quality services to assist and support the College's research staff in securing and managing research funding and other contracts 
  • Provide advice on grant regulations, guidelines, ethics, policies and agreement conditions and pre and post-award scientific, administrative, financial support
  • Liaise with funding agencies and other administrative functions of the College such as Human Resources and Finance
  • Promote and optimise college policies on the management and administration of research funding
  • Manage procurement
  • Promote and co-ordinate institutional research proposals and reporting
